The Oologah-Talala Public Schools are recognized as one of Oklahoma's best, with outstanding facilities, excellent faculty and high academic standards.
The district includes 179 square miles in the northwest quarter of Rogers County. Enrollment last year was about 1,800 students in grades K-12.
The campus is located on Highway 169 north of Oologah. It includes upper and lower elementary, middle and high school buildings, plus facilities for athletics, vocational agriculture, green house, lighted tennis courts, auditorium, indoor swimming pool, cafeteria, football stadium, track, baseball and softball stadiums.
The district has six computer labs and networked computers in each classroom. The computers are linked to the internet through a high-speed data line. Computer education is integrated into the curriculum.
Oologah-Talala teachers have an average of 14 years of experience, and 40% have advanced degrees.
High school activities include chorus, band, FFA, vo-tech, speech, drama, debate, cheerleading, yearbook, student government, International Club, academic team, FCA, OCF and more.
Competitive high school sports include football, softball, boys and girls basketball, wrestling, boys and girls swimming, boys and girls soccer, baseball, boys and girls tennis, and boys and girls track.
The middle school also offers a variety of activities and competitive sports.
Students consistently score above the state average in math, reading, language and social studies. Half the district's high school seniors go on to college, with an average ACT score of 21.3.
Parents and the community are involved through an active PTA, booster clubs and foundation.
